The Little Prince & The Fox

Here are some characters I am redesigning for my own modernized version of Antoine De Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince. The boy in the school uniform is the Little Prince and the next image is of the fox he befriends and ends up taming. Both sketched in pencil and scanned into Photoshop for color. More to come!

Thanks all for your comments. Arree, my wife said the same thing! Nick said he thought that he looked mentally challenged which cracked me up. Definitely at least one or two more trips back to the old drawing board for this character.

Very nice Photoshop "washes". If you didn't mention it, you could have fooled me. Good job!

Hello fellow Craig in the art blog world.Glad you stopped by, I've seen the sabre tooth flea before (which I think is most excellent)...great paintings too!

The taming of the fox is a very interesting because friendship is a common factor in many relationships. You tame someone and you risk loosing them. It hurts but it is unavoidable sometimes. Can one be untamed? Like the fox, with no friends? Thus saving oneself the hurtful consequences of taming.

Anyway, I like the fox drawing much more than the Little Prince -although it's good too. Why don't you give it another try?
