Cowboy John

John is a great model. I went to the Saturday workshop at Art Center and decided to paint in my moleskine sketchbook. I "gouached" it. I like saying "gouache". It's a funny word.

Nice painting Craig! I like the colors in the face. You really have the ability to SEE those very well. I just picked up a moleskine and have been doing some experiments in it. It doesn't hold watercolor at all, I'm a little suprised it does that well with gouache. I'll have to try it. :)

I'm quite obsessed with mixing up oil and acrylic and layering gubbins together in unwise combinations. but I'm so slow. You're obviously disciplined in these studies with being decisive and the opposite of ponderous.

There's a great atmosphere in these...
